Delonex Energy Limited, a UK based oil and gas exploration company, is granted an exploration license by the Ethiopian Government to make exploration in the Abred-Ferfer area, Somali State.
According to the press release by the Company, the license covers Blocks 18, 19 and 21 and these lay on a total area of 29,865 square kilometers.
The license given for Delonex Energy grants it an exploration period of three years accompanied by a provision for two extensions of two years each.
Commenting on this the Company’s CEO, Rahul Dhir, said: “We thank the Government of Ethiopia for awarding us an exploration license in the Abred-Ferfer area. We have designed a comprehensive exploration programme leveraging best in class technology, to test the oil and gas potential in the region. We will work closely with the Ethiopian government and local communities, to ensure this work programme is implemented rapidly and in line with highest standards of Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance.”
Delonex Energy is a Sub Saharan focused oil and gas exploration company. It was established in 2013 with investment of up to U.S. $ 600 Million. It has its headquarters at London, with subsidiaries in UK, India and Kenya.
