Ethiopia: Ethiopian Starts Flying to Bale and Kombolcha

Ethiopian AirlinesEthiopia Airlines announced it launched flights to Bale Robe and Kombolcha starting from Monday, September 01, 2014 and Wednesday September 10, 2014 respectively.

The flights to Kombolcha are going to be done daily while Bale Robe flights will be made four times a week using the Q400 aircraft. Flights to Bale are going to be made on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Commenting on the occasion, Ethiopian Airlines CEO Tewolde Gebremariam said: "As the national flag carrier of Ethiopia, we have a national obligation to play a critical role in the country’s broad-based, decentralized and all-inclusive socio-economic development endeavor by availing critically essential air connectivity. Our new flights to Bale Robe, which has breathtaking attractions such as the
Sof Omar Cave, and to Kombolcha, a burgeoning industrial hub, will be instrumental in enabling tourism flow and economic development."

According to the Airline’s press release, Bale Robe is famous for its notable landmark Sof Omar Cave while Kombolcha is an industrial hub housing steel product and textile factories, which it exports goods to the rest of the world.
