Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA) disclosed it will in the near future make official Ethiopia’s new Air Transport Policy.

The Authority’s Director General, Colonel Wesenyeleh Hunegnaw, noted the new policy is going to help the Ethiopia ensure aviation security and also provide efficient and up to standard air transport.

The Director General also noted, in line with the International Civil Aviation Organization’s decision, there activities being taken in order to set the African Civil Aviation Professionals Association Office in Addis Ababa.

The Association will enhance the production of skilled manpower for the aviation industry as well coordinate the aviation academies of the African continent, Wesenyeleh said.

He furthered, his Authority has licensed three companies to empower the competitiveness and effectiveness of the aviation industry. The Authority has also issued license to eight existing local and foreign operators.

In the just ended fiscal year ECAA managed to earn 148 Million Birr from over flight and navigation services, the Director General said.
