The meeting was directed at creating conducive working environment between workers and their employers.

During the meeting Ephrem noted to increase productivity there should be a transparent dialogue between employers and their workers which will let them cooperate and discus matters. He added, this will in turn enable employees to earn more and encourage them to exert more energy to further increase productivity.

Instead of going to court trade unions are ideal dispute resolution mechanism for conflicts that arise at work place, Ephrem further noted.

Kebede Zerihun, State Minister for Labour and Social Affairs, on his part said the government, trade unions and employers should work closely in order to resolve disputes in amicable manner. He added the MoU signed will enhance doing away ambiguous promotion and demotion methods companies use.
