Project coordinator for Kuraz Sugar Development announced Omo Kuraz -I sugar factory will commence sugar production in two months time.

The factory is being constructed in the Southern Nations Nationalities and Peoples State and it is part of the five sugar factories being constructed under the Kuraz Sugar Development Project.

The construction is being carried out by Metals and Engineering Corporation (MetEC).

Commenting on this Major Molla Tamiru, the project coordinator at MetEC, said civil construction of the factory is 98 percent over. He furthered installation and erection of the factory is 68 percent completed.

The Major also noted great efforts are being exerted in order to finalize construction of the factory and make it ready for trial production within two months.

According to Walta Information Center the construction of the factory created 200 jobs for in habitants of the area.
