Mexican Foreign Minister and Business Tycoons to Visit Ethiopia

Mexico’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Alfredo Miranda, announced his county’s foreign minister, Jose Antonio Meade Kuribrena, will come to Ethiopia leading a high level business delegation team on October 2014. The business delegations are said to be from textile and agriculture sectors.

The business delegates while they are in Ethiopia, they are scheduled to meet with members of the Ethiopian business community, both Addis Ababa and Ethiopia chamber of commerce and sectorial associations members and Ethiopian Investment Agency.

The Ambassador noted the delegates will deliberate methods they can work in partnership with Ethiopian tycoons. They will also assess the general trade and investment environment in Ethiopia.

Miranda stressed on Mexico’s support for Ethiopia with irradiating poverty which is a common enemy of the two countries. Then as a proof for Mexico’s effort to strengthen the two nations’ higher education relationship, the Ambassador recalled the agreement signed by Addis Ababa University and National Autonomous University of Mexico.

Miranda further noted the two countries are working closely in climate change, fighting terrorism and drug trafficking. He also showed his appreciation to what Ethiopia is doing to maintain peace and stability in East Africa.

The diplomatic relation of the two nations was established 65 years ago.
