Investment and Business in Ethiopia Seminar Held in Stockholm

A seminar was organized in Stockholm by the Ethiopian Embassy in association with Chamber Trade Sweden and the Swedish-Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce, with the aim of promoting investment and business in Ethiopia.

A business delegation led by Tadesse Haile, State Minister of Industry, attended the seminar accompanied by Ethiopian textile and leather companies, the Ethiopian Women Exporters Association. The seminar also witnessed a number of Swedish companies.

On occasion Tadesse made presentation to the attendants on the current state of Ethiopia’s economy as well as investment opportunities. He further elaborated why Ethiopia has become a preferred investment destination. 

During his stay the Ministry of State met with Finance Minister of Sweden, Anders Borg, and discussed on ways to strengthen the business-to-business relation between the two countries. 

Borg admired Ethiopia’s fast economic growth and underlined business opportunities for Swedish companies. 

Peter Stein, CEO of Stein Brothers AB, also noted Ethiopia is becoming a global manufacturing hub and emphasized the nation’s present and future strong growth potential in agriculture and manufacturing sectors. 

The seminar also witnessed experts from the Ethiopian Textile & Garment Industry and the Leather Industry presenting details on business and investment opportunities in their respective sectors.

The delegation has also paid visit to Textile University in Borås which was followed by a business to business meeting of leather and textile company representatives.
