Ethiopia: Ethiopian Businesswomen Aiming for Turkish Market

Ethiopian businesswomen led by the first lady, Roman Tesfaye, made their Istanbul, Turkey, fourth day visit on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 and commented the meeting has enabled them find export market as well as import goods to increase the quality of their products.

The visit is part of the two year project run by Roman and is implemented in association with Centre for Accelerated Women's Economic Empowerment (CAWEE). The delegates that are with Roman are the first group of 1,500 women that the project intends to connect them with the export market.

Opening the event the first lady said there is an abundant investment potential as well as favorable business environment in Ethiopia. She added conducive environment for investors has been created by Ethiopia through developing infrastructures and fighting corruption.

On the fourth day of the visit the tycoons had a one-to-one business meeting with Turkish investors. Commenting on the one-to-one business connection the first lady said, it has created an opportunity for both sides to work closely. She added it will also help them get access to the export market.
