Ethiopian to Fly to Madrid

ethiopian airlinesThe Ethiopian Airlines announced it has wrapped up preparations to start flying to Madrid, Spain and it will commence the service starting from Tuesday, September 2, 2014. The Airlines will fly to Madrid three times a week.

According to the Airline’s press release, Ethiopian will render the service through Rome bringing the total destinations of Ethiopian to 83. The press release further states Madrid is the political, economic and financial hub of Spain. It adds the city is the third largest from Europe and the Spain’s biggest urban center.

In addition to this, the release stipulates, Madrid is home for numerous major corporations and has World Tourism Organization’s headquarter of the in it.

Commenting on the deal Ethiopian’s CEO, Tewolde Gebremariam, said the continued expansion of his company’s network in Europe will enable the Airline’s customers to enjoy wider choice of connectivity options when travelling between Europe and Africa. When commencing the service to Madrid, Ethiopian will be able to take the number of it’s European city destinations to 10.

Tewolde further noted Spain is a major tourist originating and destination country. He added the new route will enhance strengthening investment, trade and tourism between Spain and the 49 Ethiopian’s destinations in Africa.

The press release stipulates passengers to and from Madrid will enjoy convenient connections to destinations in Ethiopian wide route network such as Zanzibar, Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salam, Nairobi, Entebbe, Lusaka, Luanda and Johannesburg.

Ethiopian currently has 82 destinations across five continents and makes over 200 daily flights.
