Ethiopia: Bureau Licensed 833 Projects

The Amhara State Industry and Urban Development Bureau announced it has managed to give license to some 833 projects with a combined capital of 9.9 Billion Birr during the current fiscal year. The license is given to projects that will undertake different investment projects.

During a Problem Identifying Consultative Meeting in Debrebirhan, Melaku Alebel, Bureau Head, pointed out shortages that are being witnessed in towns; infrastructure shortage and gaps in publicizing the abandon human resource available.

The Head furthered, in order to overcome the problems; the bureau has opened a branch office in Addis Ababa that supports investors after they had consultative meetings.

19 investment alternative projects in al zones of the State are also designed to encourage investors, Melaku said. In addition to this 11 industrial villages with sufficient infrastructure are ready for use in 18 different towns.
