The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) has launched a new service for its customers it refers as “premium and business customers”. Customers who visit the Bank frequently or have a deposit that is more than one Million Birr can get the new service at a separate customer service window.

According to Ephrem Mekuria, Communication Manager at the Bank, eligible customers are ones that deposit at least one Million Birr in local or foreign currency.

These will have the privileges of a separate customer service window and obtain the service at any branch they want. Nevertheless, business customers can acquire the service at the branch they opened their account at.

According to Ephrem other privileges included is the Bank will offer the customers with two additional perks. They will also have special parking spots and consultancy service will also be rendered to them by the branches.

The Bank decided to implement such scheme to recognize and encourage the Bank’s best customers, the Communication Manager said. He further noted the practice to be a new one in Ethiopia yet common in other economies.

Ephrem noted now all branches of CBE have commenced giving the service, bigger customers of the Bank will be able to get fast service at any branch they want.
