Ethiopia: Aleta Land Group to Open Trans-Border Coffee Shop in Asia

Aleta Land Coffee, an Ethiopian coffee firm, announced plan to open trans-border coffee shop in Asia beginning from the next year, according to The Reporter.

The announcement was made on Saturday during the company’s 10th year anniversary ceremony held in the capital of the Southern Nations Nationalities Peoples State (SNNP) Hawassa. The ceremony was also accompanied by the inauguration of the company’s three factories located at Hawassa.

“These days, many young Asians have started drinking coffee in addition to their well-known tea tradition”, Habetamu Silla, general manager of Aleta Land Group said.

Aleta was initially established in 2004 with a paid up capital of one Million Birr and currently this has grown to 62 Million Birr. It also took 500 Hectares of land in the Keffa zone. In addition to these, the firm owns eight full-fledged coffee processing sites in Bonga town and an export- import unit in Addis Ababa.

Inaugurating the three factories, the SNNP State President, Desse Dalke, appreciated the efforts of Aleta harnessing the immense potential of the State. He said “We are hopeful that this company will become more competitive worldwide in utilizing the region’s potential”.
