Eight mobile assembly companies that are operating in Ethiopia have finished the preparatory works to export their products, according to Metal Engineering Industry Development Institute.

Incentive program has been initiated by the government for mobile assembling companies to assemble their products in Ethiopia. In addition to this they are allowed to add 0.5 percent value when they assemble the mobile.

Tecno is among the mobile assembling companies found in Ethiopia. According to the Ethiopian News Agency Tecno has thus far exported close to 3,000 mobile phones.

Temesgen Alemayehu, General Manager of G-Tide, said his company is conducting a research together with the Institute to manufacture various mobile accessories.

Temesgen added, his company has thus far created 94 job opportunities and when the company finalize expansion works it is expected to create 200 more job opportunities.
