Ethiopia: ACSI Opens New Branch in Addis Ababa

Amhara Credit and Saving Institution (ACSI) opened a new branch in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This branch is the second for ACSI in Addis Ababa.

According to Abyou Tewabe, Office Manager, the new branch is around what is commonly known as Addisu Gebeya. He added the move will enable residents of the area to transfer money and get loan from an easily accessible distance.

ACSI was first established in October 1995 as a department under the former Ethiopian Relief Organization (ERO), the now Organization for Rehabilitation and Development in Amhara /ORDA/. It was then licensed by the National Bank of Ethiopia as a micro finance intermediary share company in April 1997.

The Institute opened its first branch in Addis Ababa in 2009 around Piassa.
