Ethiopia: Oromia State Revenues and Customs Authority Collected Six Billion Birr

Oromia State Revenues and Customs Authority that the Authority has collected six Billion Birr in the past nine months of the fiscal year from various income titles, Ethiopian News Agency reported.

Yohannes Dinkayehu, Director General of the Authority said the collected amount exceeds by one Billion Birr what the State collected during the previous entire fiscal year. The reason for the success, Yohannes said, is the fact the State is using modern technologies, implementing KAIZEN and capacity building activities.

The aim of the State for this year is to collect nine Billion Birr and with accomplishment of 70 percent of this plan during the reported period.

Yohannes said the Authority will work with State Transport Bureau for the remaining time of the fiscal year. The transport sector is one of the main source of the State's revenue.

According to Mustefa Kedir, Head of the State’s Transport Bureau, the bureau is working with stakeholders for the provision of efficient service in licensing and renewal of trade licenses.

Another organ the Authority is closely working with to achieve the nine Million Birr goal is the Trade and Development Bureau.
