Ethiopia: Oromia State Secured 484.5M Birr from Tourism

The Oromia Regional State has collected more than 484.5 Million Birr from tourism in the past nine months of the current fiscal year, Walta Information Center reported.

Kefyalew Moti, the State’s Tourism Bureau Head, told WIC a total of 1.2 Million tourists have visited tourist attraction sites in the Regional State. Comparing figures from a year earlier, he said there is a 17 percent increase in the amount of revenue collected and a 15 percent increase in the number of visiting tourists.

Kefiyalew added that the State is working with the residents in order to fulfil infrastructures in tourist destination in the. He further added, employees of 3,143 hotels were given training in order to improve the quality of service given to the tourists by the hotels.
