Ethiopia: WWDSE and China's Hydrochina Huadong Engineering Corporation Signed MoU for Technical Cooperation

chinahydroEthiopia's Water Works Design & Supervision Enterprise (WWDSE) and China's Hydrochina Huadong Engineering Corporation have signed a memorandum of understanding to provide technical support and consultation to projects supervised by the WWDSE, Fortune reported.

The MoU was signed on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the Friendship Hotel, by Mebrate Tafesse (Phd), CEO of WWDSE, and Zhang Chunsheng, president of Hydrochina Huadong.

The MoU includes providing training for the scientific and technical personnel of the WWDSE; exchanging available scientific and technical skills and experience, and information sharing on mutually agreed commercial terms. Hydrochina will transfer scientific and technical software, know-how and management systems to mutually agreed projects.

The Enterprise has gaps in the codes, standards and procedures of projects,” Mebrate says. “It hopes to benefit from the experience of the Chinese Company in those areas.”

Established in 1998, the WWDSE is an Ethiopian public enterprise that provides consultancy services in water resources development.

Founded in Shanghai, China, in 1954, Hydrochina is engaged in providing engineering consultancies, analytic and research, investigation and designing of project management in the areas of hydro-engineering and renewable energy resources, large dam safety supervision and engineering and urban and environmental planning and management.
