The Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations announced that Ethiopia-United Arab Emirates (UAE) business forum will be held March 18, 2014 in Addis Ababa, The Ethiopian Herald reported.

The objective of the forum is to acquaint the business community with one another and also strengthen cooperation between the two countries, according to Adisu Tekle, Communication and International Relations Department Manager with the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce.

Adisu noted that an UAE delegation, lead by the Minister of Economy would attend the forum.

Walid Hareb Al Falahi, CEO of Dubai Consultancy also said that, 20 UAE companies are operating in Ethiopia in the textile, agriculture, trading, car maintenance, energy, construction, aluminum, and other sectors and plan to raise their number to 40.

The UAE companies have invested US$ 772 million in the agriculture, industry, education, construction and other sectors, he added.
