The state-owned, Ethiopian Shipping & Logistics Services Enterprise (ESLSE) reported 5.37 billion birr earning during the first half of the fiscal year, according to Walta Information Center.
Osman Ali, ESLSE’s corporate communication head, said the enterprise registered 503.8 million birr in net profit during the reported period.
The enterprise achieved 99 percent of its target for the first half of the fiscal year, Osman told Walta Information Center.
ESLSE's gross revenue generated during the six months showed a growth of 1.7 million birr, compared to its revenue a year earlier, according to Osman. The revenues also include income generated from stevedoring (loading and unloading of goods) and shore handling services.
ESLSE, the only company engaged in sea freight activity in the country, transported over 1.5 million tons of goods during the period, Osman said.
