The Ethiopian Revenues and Customs Authority (ERCA) said it has collected over 53.3 billion birr in revenue in the first half of the current Ethiopian budget year.

Authority Education and Communication Directorate Director, Epherem Mekonnen, told Walta Information Center that the reported revenue was collected from taxes, non-tax income titles and from the national lottery.

ERCA targeted to collect over 60. 6 billion birr in the reported period but only attained 87.94 percent of its target. However, the revenue collected in the reported period has increased by more than 9. 6 billion birr compared to a year earlier by more than, the communication director said.

The Ethiopian Revenues and Customs Authority has set a target to collect 116.8 billion birr this fiscal year, it was learnt.
