Ethiopia earned US$ 165 million revenue from the manufacturing sector over the past five months, the Ministry of Industry said.

Corporate Communications Director with the Ministry, Melaku Taye told Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) on Monday, that earning from the sector has shown a 22 percent growth compared to a year earlier.

The reported amount was obtained from export of textiles and garment, leather and leather products, processed agricultural products, pharmaceutical and chemical products.

The Ministry is working in close collaboration with technical and vocational training institutes to meet the skilled labor demand in the sector. The government has been providing various incentives to attract investors to the manufacturing sector, according to ENA.
