Ethiopia: State Revenues Authority Collected 1.4 billion in 5 Months

The Amhara Revenues and Customs Authority said it has collected more than 1.4 billion birr in revenue from various income titles over the past five months, Ethiopian News Agency reported.

Communication Expert with the Authority, Alemayehu Gashaye told Ethiopian News Agency that 32.4 percent of the total revenue was generated from direct taxes, while the remaining is from municipality services.

West Gojjam, East Gojjam and North Shoa Zones as well as Bahir Dar town achieved 38.9 percent, 34.7 percent, 34.6 percent and 30.7 percent of their revenue collection targets, respectively, according to  Ethiopian News Agency.

Alemayehu said, the Authority is working to collect over five billion birr revenue during the current fiscal year.
