The Ethiopian Bankers Association (EBA) elected Addisu Habba, as its new president, The Reporter reported.

The General Assembly meeting of the Association held last Thursday elected Addisu, current president of Abyssinia Bank, following the resignation of the Association's and United Bank's previous president Berhanu Getaneh.

The newly elected president of the EBA worked in the financial industry for a total of 36 years. Before assuming the presidency at BoA, Addisu has served as the president of Construction and Business Bank (CBB) for eight years, according to The Reporter.

The Ethiopian Bankers Association was founded 12 years ago with a contribution of Tilahun Abaye, former president of Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE), and Leikun Berhanu, also ex-president of Awash International Bank.
