ILO to Convene Work for Youth (W4Y) Conference in Ethiopia

iloWork for Youth (W4Y), a regional conference which discuss labor market transitions of young women and men and higlight youth employment initiatives in Sub-Saharan Africa will be held from 3-4 December 2013 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, according to a press release the International Labor Organization (ILO) sent to Ethiopian News Agency.

This first W4Y conference will see the attendance of representatives of African governments, workers’ and employers’ organizations in the ILO’s W4Y Project’s eight sub-Saharan African countries.

Conference participants drawn from Benin, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda and Zambia as well as government representatives from Ethiopia and observers from regional and international institutions, civil society and development partners will take part in the conference.

Organized by the ILO’s Youth Employment Program, the meeting will provide an opportunity to better assess how statistical evidence can support the design and monitoring of policy toward improved labor market transitions of young people in the region, the release said.
