Exporters’ Guide Launched

The Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ECCSA) launched this week a new exporter’s guide as part of its business development and trade facilitation efforts to maximize the benefits of the country from the sector.

Eyesuswork Zafu, president of the chamber, said that the guide would be a useful partner to all exporters in Ethiopia.

According to Gashaw Debebe, secretary general of the chamber, Ethiopia is endowed with relatively comparative advantage of engaging in the international market by supplying competitive export items both in quantity and quality with possible diversification.

“This comparative advantage lies in the various sectors including coffee, oilseeds, pulses, spices, horticulture and floriculture products from agriculture, and textile and leather and leather products from the manufacturing sector,” Gashaw said.

Gashaw said that with the help of the newly published exporters’ guide Ethiopia’s competitiveness over the global market is likely to grow.
