The Nekemte-Bure road project is expected to be commenced next year, Walta Information Center reported.

The 258 km road project's Environmental and Social Impact Assessment and Resettlement Policy Framework (RPF) is completed, according to the Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA).

The civil work of the project will be commenced by next fiscal year, ERA's Communication Directorate Director, Samson Wondimu, told Walta Information Center today.

The project, part of the Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP), will be financed by the World Bank and the government of Ethiopia, Samson noted.

Both the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment and Resettlement Policy Framework were conducted by a local Consultant, Ethio Infra Engineering PLC, Samson said.
