The Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Division of Ethiopia's consumer protection agency officially launched its operation on Thursday October 10, 2013, Capital reported.

The division is tasked with arbitrating, imposing administrative and civil sanctions and protecting citizens and businesses from anti-competitive and illegal trade practices.

The Division has the powers to investigate and delivers judgment on violations prohibited under the country's trade practices and consumer protection laws.
