Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce held B2B Discussion with Italian Business Delegation

The Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ECCSA) held a business-to-business (B2B) discussion with an Italian delegation comprising of 28 individuals representing their companies.

The meeting was held on October 14th October 2013 at the Association’s Hall.

 

The delegation is drawn from different sectors operating in Brescia, Italy, according to Capital.

During the B2B event, Italian and Ethiopian companies discussed on potential areas of trade and investment to work together.

In addition to the the B2B event, the Italian delegation also met with Foreign Minister Tedros Adhanom. Tedros explained the main strategic areas of investment in the Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP) and urged Italian companies to invest in priority sectors in the country such as textiles, leather, construction and energy, among other things.

The total trade exchange volume between Ethiopia and Italy grew to over US$ 391 million in 2011, up from US$ 171 million in 2004, according to Capital.
