MoFED: Ethiopia's Economy Grew 9.7% in FY 2012/13

Ethiopia's Ministry of Finance and Economic Development (MoFED) announced, Ethiopia economy grew 9.7 percent during the 2012/13 fiscal year, Capital reported.

According to the Ministry's press release, agriculture registered a 7.1 percent growth, while industry and service sectors registered a 18.5 and 9.9 percent growth respectively.

 

The service sector's share out of the total GDP stand at 45 percent, while agriculture and industry trail with 43 and 12 percent respectively.

Over the last ten consecutive years, the country’s economy has registered rapid growth, states the Ministry's press release. The average growth rate of the GDP is 10.9 percent. The agriculture, industry and service sectors annual average growth was 9.3, 12.2 and 12.4 percents respectively.
