The South Nations Nationalities and People Regional State Revenue Authority announced that it has collected over 2.9 billion Ethiopian birr income in the concluded Ethiopian Fiscal Year.

The Authority's Deputy Director, Tadesse  Merd, told Walta Information Center, the revenue was collected from direct and indirect taxes as well as municipality service. The Deputy  Director said,  the authority attained 97 per cent of its target of collecting 3 billion birr. Due to the coordinated efforts of the authority’s staff, the revenue collected in the reported period has increased by 900 million birr compared to last fiscal year, according to Tadesse. The Authority is targeting to collect 4 billion birr in the current Ethiopian Fiscal Year.
