Dassie Dalke, Minister of Science and Technology, said at the launching conference, the Academy would create a huge potential to undertake problem solving researches and advance science and technology.
Professor Demissie Habte, President of the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences said, members of the Academy are undertaking various research works that have significant impact on the nation’s development. He also said the Academy would follow a system that would enable the research works put into practice, thereby solve the problems in the society.
The President also indicated that, the Academy is making preparations to host African Academy of Sciences conference to take place in Addis Ababa in November, 2013.
Members of the Parliament, Ministers and other government officials attended the founding conference.
