Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Enterprise is finalizing preparations to award design and construction contract for additional warehouse at Modjo Dry Port.

The latest stuffing and stripping warehouse will be built on 5,400 square meter plot. The project will also include construction of a container freight station.

The winners will be selected out of 5 companies that participated in the tender floated in October 2012. The companies which participated in the tender include Flintstone Engineering, Yotek Construction, Yirgalem Construction and Orbit Engineering and Construction.

Construction of the new warehouse is part of the Enterprise's second phase expansion of the dry port.
The warehouse and container station will be used by the Ethiopian Customs and Revenue Authority for the storage of goods awaiting inspection.

Currently, Modjo Dry port has a temporary stuffing and stripping warehouse laying on 3000 square meter lot. The Enterprise is planning to construct four additional stuffing and stripping warehouse in its second phase of the dry port expansion project.

The contract now being awarded is second of the four expansion projects. Previously ESLSE awarded Afrotsion Construction PLC the first warehouse expansion project for 67 million Birr.
