The 174km Ginir-Beredimtu- Imi gravel road constructed at a cost of more than 802 million Birr has opened to traffic, the Ethiopian Roads Authority said. Communication Director with the Authority, Samson Wondimu told ENA on Wednesday that the road links different towns and localities in Somali and Oromia States. Samson said construction of the road has been undertaken in two phases, the 90km Ginir-Imi-Gode road and the 84km Beredimtu-Imi road.
The Ethiopian government covered the full cost for construction of the road, he said. The construction of the road will help farmers to boost production and supply output to market at fair price.
