Ethiopian Airlines Postpones Launch of Flight to Sao Paulo

Ethiopian Airlines announced that it has postponed the launch of flight to Sao Paulo in Brazil because of an inconvenient time slot given the airlines. The airline announced that it will expects to launch flights to Sao Paulo in March instead of the originally intended December.

Ethiopian had anticipated launching thrice weekly flight to the Brazilian city through its hub in Lome, Togo.

The slot allotted to the airline by the airport administration authority of Sao Paulo is inconvenient and requires some additional discussion with Brazilian authorities said Tewolde Gebremariam, Chief Executive of the Airline.

The airline plans to take on additional passengers to Sao Paulo through its affiliate Togolese airline ASKY during stopover in Lome on all Sao Paulo flights he explained.

The airline requires a time slot that is convenient t to its connection flights in Africa for this reason and hopes to reach an accommodation with the authorities in Sao Paulo even if the airport there is one of the busiest in South America.

The bilateral agreement with the Brazilian authorities allows carriers of both countries to fly seven weekly flights.

In related news Ethiopian Airlines will start flights Kula Lampur thrice weekly flights beginning next week to expand its network and to open new routes.
