French-Djiboutian Delegation Visits Ethiopia

A delegation of representative of French and Djiboutian business visited Ethiopia last week. The delegation was led by Banque Pour Le Commerce et L’Industrie - Mer Rouge (BCIMR) in Djibouti and its French parent BRED Banque Populaire.

The delegation is made up of a diverse group of 10 members with backgrounds ranging from banking to aviation and insurance.

Company’s represented include a company dealing with medical products and health care, an insurance college and long time Canadian partner and the International Bank of Canada said Emmanuel Lemoigne Director General of BRED.

A noted economist managing a consultancy company developing economic models and statistics and an airline operating in Africa and Asia are also among the partners and clients of BCIMR seeking to further enhance their markets he said. 

BCIMR has clients operating in Ethiopia, Dubai, Yemen, and Somaliland as well as in Djibouti said Mr. Ali Abayazid Moussa, Chief Operating Officer.

The visit to Addis Ababa is part of a circuit of clients in an area where the company’s radius of action lies he said.

The main objective of BCIMR is to support the parent company and it feels that it has reached its full potential in Djibouti and is now going along with the operation of clients in Ethiopia, South Sudan, Somaliland and Yemen added Moussa.

BCIMR hopes that the banking system will open up in Ethiopia allowing it to operate he said.

The company plans to repeat the visit with a bigger group as part of the long term strategy with our clients said Lemoigne.
