Bethlehem Tilahun on Forbes Women to Watch List

Ethiopian entrepreneur Bethlehem Tilahun, founder and managing director of soleRebels has been selected as one of the twelve women to watch my Forbes magazine.

Forbes magazine selected twelve up and coming women who are exhibiting the potential to climb to the ranks of the most powerful women in the world in the coming year as supplement to its annual World’s 100 Most Powerful Women list.

The twelve women include Robin Roberts, Co-Anchor of Good Morning America, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge and Sara Blakely, founder of iconic apparel company Spanx! as well as Bethlehem.

It is to be remembered that Bethlehem Tilahun was named one of Africa’s most successful women by Forbes magazine in January.

“Every now and then, I profile outstanding African women who’re making giant strides in business, politics, technology, entrepreneurship and leadership on the continent and elsewhere around the world. This week, I profile the spectacular Bethlehem Tilahun Alemu, an Ethiopian entrepreneur and the founder of SoleRebels a thriving eco-sensitive footwear brand that pundits hail as Africa’s answer to brands such as Nike, Reebok and Adidas” wrote the editor.

The article lauded Bethlehem for utilizing the skills to be found in her largely impoverished community to found a flourishing business generating employment opportunities.

SoleRebels produces footwear that offers a blend of traditional Ethiopian styles and modern western design influences according to Forbes.

SoleRebels are sold in 30 countries across the world and via Amazon and Endless online.
