The Ethiopian Documents Authentication and Registration office has raised more than 116 million birr which is 102% of its target from public services charge announced a report prepared by the office.
The Office was able to handle more than 399 thousand cases in the just ended financial year which was 112% more than what it planned to handle in the financial year.
DARO has been able to serve 767,009 cases in the two years since it radically reformed its operating system seeing an increase of 22% in the number of cases it handled this year and a 20% increase in the revenue it raised over the last financial year it was said.
The authentication office also attributes the growth in the number of cases it handles to higher levels of foreign direct investment, online services offered to clients, branch expansion and the automation of services explained the report.It is to be remembered that DARO introduced online attorney registration services at the beginning of the last financial year with clients only require to visit the office for notarization. The online registration software is being installed in all DARO branches by domestic IT supplier Custor Computing plc.
It is estimated that DARO gives services to approximately 3000 clients every day. The office has increased the number of its offices in Addis Ababa by four in the past year. DARO plans to enhance its earnings to more than 500 million birr by the end of the Growth and Transformation Plan.
