Ethiopian Airports Enterprise to Raise 1 Billion Birr

The Ethiopian Airports Enterprise announced that it expects to raise more than one billion birr from the various services that it renders in the new budget year.

The Enterprise will particularly focus on enhancing its market plans to expand its financial base it said.

EAE plans to raise the projected revenue through the development of airport infrastructure and by providing its standard airport services to customers. The enterprise also plans to implement a plan to support airlines during this budget year as well as increasing the quality of the services it offers and increasing the infrastructure of the airports it manages it was said.

Some of the efforts that EAE plans to undertake include the computerization of its services to put into place a system that will offer efficiency, and plans to enhance the safety of regional airports by renovating the infrastructure.

It is to be remembered that EAE earned 816 million birr in the just concluded financial year as well completing the first phase of the expansion work on the taxiway of the Bole International Airport, Ethiopia was completed said the Ethiopian Airports Enterprise. The project was completed at a total cost of 1.1 billion birr.
 
The expansion project was intended to enhance the airport’s capacity to meet air traffic flow said Wondim Teklu, Head of Public Relations and Communications Service with the EAE.

The second phase of the expansion work will allow the airport to serve ten more aircraft said Wondim. An estimated 27% of the second phase of the expansion is already finalized he noted.
