Dreamliner Painted in Ethiopian Livery

The first Boeing 787 Dreamliner that will be delivered to Ethiopian Airlines has been painted in the airline’s livery and is in the final stages of preparation for delivery announced Ethiopian Airlines.

The aircraft was painted in the national colors of green, yellow and red and will fly back to Seattle from San Antonio, Texas it was said in the company press release.

Ethiopian Airlines is proud to the first African carrier to fly the much awaited, state of the art Dreamliner and anticipates delivery within the next month according to the release.

Ethiopian is committed to enhance its customer service and to introduce a range of new aircraft to serve its expanding list of destinations added the statement.

The airline expects to bring 14 additional new aircraft including three B734-800 aircraft with Sky Interior and five B787 Dreamliners in the 2012-13.

It is to be remembered that Ethiopian announced on Thursday that it had put in an order with Boeing for an additional 777-200LR Worldliner increasing its fleet of similar aircraft to six.

 “The performance and range of the airplane allowed us to open direct routes from Washington D.C to Addis Ababa, Addis Ababa to Beijing, Toronto to Addis Ababa, as well as other long range routes,” said Tewolde Gebremariam, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines said in the press release.

Ethiopian is planning  to  buy more long range aircraft to exploit Addis Ababa’s strategic position to provide more long range nonstop flight to connect all four corners of the world.
