Ethiopian Airlines, Ethiopia’s flag carrier, has won the “The Annual Airline Reliability Performance Award” from Bombardier Aerospace, for the second time in a row.
The airline earned the highest total dispatch reliability to place first overall in the Q-400 product category for the African and Middle Eastern Region.
The award was received by Mesin Tassew, Chief Operating Officer of Ethiopian at the annual Airline Reliability Performance Awards Gala dinner which was held in Florida, USA on the 30th of April.
The introduction of the Q-400 aircraft has boosted the safety and comfort of Ethiopian customers as well as addressing the need for additional capacity.The Bombardier Airline Reliability Performance Awards are awarded every year to operators of Q-400 series and CRJ services in acknowledgment of outstanding dispatch reliability.
The winners of the award are expected to deliver an average dispatch reliability of 99% or more on revenue passenger flights and the highest dispatch reliability performance in each region and product class.
Ethiopian owns eight Bombardier Q-400 aircraft and has recently ordered an additional five upgraded, bigger baggage compartments, seven business class seats and two lavatories it was noted.
