Israeli Companies held B2B Discussion in Ethiopia

Israeli companies engaged in the agriculture, crop production, animal husbandry, greenhouse, poultry, dairy and others sectors held a business-to-business meeting here in Addis Ababa on March 7, according to The Reporter.

The delegation of the companies was led by the Israeli Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Yair Shamir.

The Israeli business delegation include prominent that play leading roles in agricultural research and development, aquaculture, agro industry, irrigation, fisheries, and agro chemicals, according to The Reporter.

During the meeting, Yair Shamir stated, “we are here to share our experience.”

Shamir added that this business-to-business meeting will not only serve to further enhance the bilateral relationship between Ethiopia and Israel, but it will also be a great opportunity to build the capacity of Ethiopia in the fields of technology transfer and innovation.

Tefera Derbew, Ethiopia Minister of Agriculture, on his part presented the countries potential in the agriculture sector, which encompasses horticulture, livestock, poultry and other agricultural sectors. Tefera also extended his invitation for more Israeli companies to comes and invest in Ethiopia.

The Shamir also held a discussion with Ethiopian Foreign Minister Tedros Adhanom (Ph.D.) on bilateral issues.

The minister is plans to visit a flower farm owned by an Israeli company. Currently there are more than 50 Israeli companies investing in various investment activities in Ethiopia.
