Master of Business Administration (MBA) program with a specialization in Information Systems Management (ISM) is a one-of-a-kind program that combines management and information technology and is available only at our college. The program is a huge success. MBA specialization in Information Systems Management (ISM ) at our college is designed to give the graduate a competitive edge in the management of information systems and technology. The candidates are required to complete a total of 36 credit hours that include course work and project work. The course breakdowns and the corresponding credit hours are categorized under foundational, specialization, and capstone courses. The foundation courses are pillar courses that provide the basics of management disciplines. The specialization courses are designed to impart the knowledge and skills required to train students specifically in managing projects. To provide perspective on the whole process of project management, capstone courses are arranged to enable students to tackle project management problems in an all-around manner.

The MBA-ISM (Master of Business Administration in Information Systems Management) is an accredited Masters's degree program offered by the college. It has attracted nationally and internationally qualified, experienced, and dedicated staff committed to providing a blend of work and life-relevant tuition and multifaceted knowledge-based education.

Fee Details of MBA ISM:

  • Semester Fee: 13,500 Birr for four semesters.
  • Thesis Fee: 10,000 Birr payable in third semester
  • Certificate Fee: 1,000 Birr  payable in fourth semester

Admission Requirements

To join the MBA-ISM graduate program, BA graduates from recognized universities in business-related fields are required. BSc graduates in Information Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, and other IT-related fields from reputable universities. If a BA/BSc graduate from a recognized university comes from an unrelated undergraduate background, the college may admit a candidate based on his/her experience in management, business, or IT areas. However, depending on their undergraduate background, candidates are required to complete the following bridging courses at most in one semester.

Students of non-business academic backgrounds

  • Introduction to Management (4 Cr Hr)
  • Basic Accounting and Finance (4 Cr Hr)
  • Quantitative Methods for Business (4 Cr Hr)

Applicants with a background in business education, economics, or other related fields, or those who have not taken the following courses:

  • Introduction to Computers (3 Cr Hr)
  • Management Information Systems (3 Cr Hr)
  • Systems Analysis and Design (3 Cr Hr)

Graduation Requirements

A student will qualify to graduate with MBA Degree in Information Systems Management if he or she successfully completes 30 credit hours of course work and 6 credit hours of project work; attains a minimum CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of 3.00.
