The federal legislative organ, House of Peoples Representatives (HPR), ratified two agreements the Ethiopian government concluded with International Development Associations (IDA) for the finance of productive safety net project and the regional pastoral livelihood resilience project. The finance agreements sum is USD 675 Million.

Huajian Group, a Chinese footwear company, revealed its plans to expand its investment in Ethiopia and establish the country as a major manufacturing hub in Eastern Africa.
Huawei and Eltel concluded a major contract in Ethiopia. The agreement is for the installation of Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) covering 1, 600 Kilometers on the existing power transmission lines.
Ethiopia's state-owned Ethio Telecom said on Thursday it had selected Huawei Technologies Co Ltd, a Chinese telecom equipment manufacturer, to upgrade Addis Ababa's network infrastructure to a high-speed 4G network, Reuters reported.
The upgrade is part of a US$1.6 billion contract concluded in July and August between Ethio Telecom, Huawei and ZTE Corp., China's biggest telecom equipment makers, to expand mobile phone network throughout Ethiopia.
