Ethiopia: First National Model MSEs Exhibition opens in Addis Ababa

Construction on the first phase of the Tendaho Sugar plant located in Afar regional state is being finalized. Over 80 percent of the construction work has already been completed, Ethiopian News Agency reported.
Abreham Berhe, the project's office manager told Ethiopian News Agency on Monday that the project includes construction of a reservoir which has a capacity to hold 1.86 billion cubic meter water and 14,000 hectares of land has be covered with sugarcane plantation, the Manager said.
Fitch Ratings has assigned Ethiopia Long-term foreign and local currency Issuer Default Ratings (IDRs) of 'B'. The Outlooks on the Long-term IDRs are Stable. Fitch has also assigned a Short-term foreign currency IDR of 'B' and a Country Ceiling of 'B'.
Five contractors were awarded seven contracts of 1.06 Billion Birr worth for the construction of 20 Kilometers asphalt road by the Addis Ababa City Roads Authority (AACRA). All the projects are said to be financed by the Addis Ababa City Administration.
Five wheat processing factories that were built at the cost of 153 million Birr in Amhara State, Ethiopia, will commence operation in two months. The factories are built in East Gojam Zone and they consumed 153 million Birr.
