Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) traded 1.3 billion Birr worth coffee, sesame and pea beans in the month of September. The total volume of the traded coffee, sesame and pea beans was 24,714 tons.

Ethiopian Exchange Commodity (ECX) disclosed it had managed to trade 1.7 billion Birr worth commodities during the last month, August.

Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) traded commodities worth 2.2 billion Birr during the month of October. The traded commodities were all in all 37,222 tons.

The Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) said it transacted 2.65 million metric tons of commodities over the past five years. According to a statement posted on its website, the total sum of all commodities traded at the ECX has reached 90 billion Ethiopian birr.

The number of trading members has increased to 329 during the reported period from 100 in 2008, when it commenced operation, it said. ECX has managed to increase the number of delivery centers and settlement banks to 17 and 11 respectively.

Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) transacted commodities that were worth 26.5 billion Birr in the just ended fiscal year. The commodities transacted were a total of 621,538 tons.
