The Ethiopia Commodity Exchange (ECX) is gearing up to market flax, gulo fruit, and teff in the current fiscal year through a modernized marketing system. The completion of research on flax and malting barley has set the stage for these products to enter the market, with preparations underway to ensure their introduction does not adversely impact the domestic market.
The Ethiopian Commodity Exchange is in the process of trading minerals and industrial products after securing the necessary approval. It has also inked a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Mines on minerals and mineral products.
Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX) announced that it would start trading wheat within the current Ethiopian year. Wheat trading will start after a draft agreement which is prepared to modernize wheat sale transaction in Ethiopia gets approved. ECX will also launch trading incense, cardamom, rice and legume products.
