Matter Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Diriba Kuma, Mayor of Addis Ababa City held talks on advancing collaboration and sharing experiences in roads, public transport and licensing systems and other related topics, Emirates News Agency reported.
Ethiopian Railways Corporation said testing of an electrified railway from Addis Ababa to Djibouti’s port will start in October.
Addis Ababa – Djibouti railway line, which will connect Ethiopia with Djibouti, is said to commence trial service by the first week of October. The railway will connect the landlocked Ethiopia with Port Djibouti.
Federal Cooperative Agency (FCA), disclosed the total capital of cooperatives in Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa, has reached 4.3 billion Birr. The capital is the tally of the entire 102 cooperative enterprises’ that have employed 180,000 people.
During a pre bid meeting on Monday, June 30, 2014, Ethiopian Railway Corporation pronounced it is looking forward to establish an international system which will enhance operation and maintenance works.
