Ethiopia's Electric Power (EEP) has set its sights on expanding its power grid and becoming a major electricity supplier in Africa. Their plan involves connecting the Eastern and Southern Africa Power Pools, ultimately delivering electricity to South Africa.
Ethiopia's Ministry of Urban Development and Infrastructure announced that it plans to build 4.4 million urban houses as it embarks on the implementation of its ten year perspective plan. The Ministry also said it plans to see up to 2.8 million rural houses built.
Ethiopia intends to build expressways across the country in areas that are regarded as major congested areas. According to Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA), this is going to be done in the aim of solving the traffic overcrowding.
The Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Electricity announced plans to undertake 105 dam construction projects on small rivers in GTP II period, Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) reported.
