Ethiopia has obtained $33.14 million from the ten-month export of leather and leather products, Ethiopia’s Leather and Leather Products Industry Research and Development Center announced. The sector has also created employment for over eight thousand workers, it has been learned.
The Ministry of Mines announced Tuesday that it had secured more than 509 million dollars from the mining
sector during in the last fiscal year.
The amount was secured from gold, tantalum and gemstone producing companies and traditional miners, Sinknesh Ejjigu, Minister of Mines, said.
It was reported in July that the Ministry of Mines had collected 104 million birr in royalty fees 98 million birr of which was paid by MIDROC Gold.
The Ministry of Mines (MoM) announced that it has collected USD 281 million in revenue from the export of different minerals during the past nine months in this Ethiopian fiscal year, Walta Information Center (WIC) reported.
Ethiopia has earned USD 297 million in revenue from the export of mining products in the last ten months of this budget year, Ministry of Mines said.
Ethiopia’s horticulture sector showed improvement in the 2021/2022 fiscal year after being severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Exports from the sector reached USD 628 million during the fiscal year surpassing expectations. The flower sector alone obtained USD 541 million making Ethiopia the second largest exporter of flowers in Africa.
