United Insurance S.C has selected Ethiopian construction company, Zamra Construction PLC for a 140 million birr contract for the structural construction of its new headquarters building in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The agreement was signed on Monday, April 1, 2013.
The England based consumer products manufacturer, Unilever, has opened its factory in Ethiopia. The factory is said to be located in Easter Industry Zone, Dukem.
Unilever Ethiopia inaugurated a toothpaste factor in the Eastern Industry Park in Dukem, 31 km southeast of Addis Ababa. The toothpaste factory will produce the Unilever brand Signal toothpaste.
Unilever (UNA), the world’s second-biggest consumer-products manufacturer, plans to open a manufacturing plant in Ethiopia during the next year, Bloomberg reported citing a company official.
British-Dutch consumer goods giant Unilever has announced plans to reduce its global workforce, starting next month, in a bid to increase profitability. Operating in over 190 countries, including Ethiopia, Unilever employs more than 128,000 people worldwide and produces brands such as Signal, Lifebuoy, OMO, and Knorr.
